Welcome to Lake Tejas

Lake Tejas is a spring fed family style recreation lake located one mile east of Colmesneil on FM 256. It is open for swimming from mid-May thru Labor day but year round for camping, fishing, or gatherings. The beautiful landscape, crystal cool water, and family atmosphere make it the perfect place to hold reunions, school trips, birthday parties, church retreats, scout campouts, vacations, or just a fun filled family day in the sun.

The swimming area has approximately 80 yards of sandy beach with plenty of room to run and play and a buoyed swimming area large enough to accommodate all levels of swimming ability. Rent a tube or bring the float of your choice and float out away from the chaos on the beach to find your own private place to tan and socialize.

From the total novice to the advanced swimmer, there is plenty of fun for the entire family. With a roped children’s zone little ones have a safe place all of their own, while the high dive tower will take your breath away. And the 100 foot long “Wet Willy” slide is the crown jewel of our water.

Lake Tejas may have anywhere from 1 to 6 trained Guards on duty at any given time according to the volume of swimmers. These guards are certified in both CPR and First aide as well as professionally trained in water safety and rescue.
